Lent Course 2019 – Grass Roots Disciples
The Diocese of Exeter’s vision is to ‘Pray, Grow Disciples and Serve the people of Devon with joy.’ Last year’s Lent course was about Prayer; this year’s course will be about growing as disciples.
An informal, social and encouraging four session learning series to help us continue and develop our Christian journeys; to be empowered as disciples, explore the God-given opportunities for growth and mission in the world around us and expand our understanding of our faith, and calling.
It will be held at Talaton Parish Hall at 7.30pm on:
- Week 1 – Tuesday 12th March 2019
- Week 2 – Tuesday 19th March 2019
- Week 3 – Tuesday 26th March 2019
- Week 4 – Tuesday 9th April 2019
Through conversation, practical discussion, theological and sociological input and sharing of examples from elsewhere, the course will look at questions like:
What does discipleship looks like for us? What can be done to encourage further steps in discipleship? What does ministry and leadership mean for lay people? How can we be aware and attentive in our Christian lives? What are the different facets of lay ministry? What are my gifts? How can I be part of a team? What does faith and holiness look like in our society? What does it mean to be a disciple in the contexts I find myself in?
It will be held at Talaton Parish Hall on some Tuesday evenings in March and April at 7.30pm. More details to follow but please get the following dates into your diaries.
